$2.00

This “All About Me” student survey is the perfect Back to School activity to get to know your new students! Available as both a printable PDF and a digital Google Slides document, there are two versions of this resource: one that asks students for their preferred pronouns, and one that does not. Both versions include tons of questions about your students’ families, pets, hobbies, interests, and goals for the new school year!

Looking for a quick, fun back-to-school student survey for the first day of school? Have your students fill out this All About Me activity! Available as both a print and digital version (Google Slides/Google Classroom Compatible), this All About Me survey will work for physical and distance learning classrooms!

This resource includes:

✯ Two versions of the All About Me Student Survey (printable PDF and Google Slides-compatible digital versions included). One version asks for students’ preferred pronouns, and one with that question omitted.

✯ Both versions ask students about their families, their pets, their hobbies, and their favorite books, movies, TV shows, apps, and music.

✯ It also asks the students to reflect. What is something they consider themselves good at? What’s something they want to get better at? What goals do they have for this new school year? Who do they want to be? This question always elicits some thoughtful, introspective answers, and it’s one of my favorites to ask.

✯ Finally, the survey asks if there is anything the student wants you to know about them. It’s a great opportunity to let students tell you something they don’t want to share in front of the class.

It’s really fun to bring a stack of these home on the first day of school and get that first look into the kids you’re going to have this year. Not only do you get to learn a little bit about their lives (their hobbies, their pets, if they can even think of a book to put down as their favorite), but how they fill out the worksheet tells you loads as well. Does the student have neat handwriting? Did they jot down one-word answers? Or fill the page with the dreaded “I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know”? It’s a great way to let your students introduce themselves to you. πŸ˜‰

When you purchase this resource, you will download a non-editable PDF that contains the printable version of the article as well as the link to the digital Google Slides document. There will be instructions on how to upload the digital version to your Google Classroom, as well as all Answer Keys. The link to the Google Slides document will have you click a button that says “Use Template”, which will create a copy of the document in your Google Drive.

The text of the Google Slides document isΒ non-editable, but there are text boxes throughout that students can type into in order to record their responses.

What other teachers are saying about this resource:

“Used during distance learning”

I used this to get to know my middle school students during distance learning. It was a great tool to learn information about them without putting them on the spot.

“Really enjoyed the responses”

A really nice way to check in mid-year and see what’s changed, easy and low stakes way for kids to feel comfortable letting me know if there’s anything I need to know–really enjoyed the responses.
