Perfect for middle or high school students of Civics, American Government, and American History!
This resource includes:
✯ A short Amending the Constitution Article, which:
- introduces students to the word amendment
- details historic Amendments to the Constitution, such as the Bill of Rights, the 13th, 14th, and 19th
- and briefly explains the process of amending the Constitution.
✯ An Amending the Constitution Review, in which students will:
- Define key terms and concepts, such as the word amendment and the Bill of Rights.
- Complete a graphic organizer of the Amendment process.
- Compare the process of amending the Constitution to that of amending the Articles of Confederation.
- Reflect on the amendment process and why it’s necessarily complex.
This activity is designed to introduce the Florida State Standard for Middle School Civics, SS.7.C.2.4: The Bill of Rights and Other Amendments.
