The five goals of government covered are:

  • national security
  • provide foreign aid
  • promote the spread of democracy
  • promote international trade
  • promote world peace

Four (4) Goals of Foreign Policy Shields Templates. Each blank template features a differently shaped shield, so students can choose whichever they like (or, they can make their own!) The shields are divided into five sections, one for each goal of foreign policy.

In each section of the shield, students:

  • label the goal of foreign policy
  • define the goal
  • provide an example (preferably from real-life)
  • and include an image

Students can draw, color, paste images from the internet, or make the entire shield online using TPT Easel. Or, extend the activity even further and let students bring in cardboard, tin foil, sytrofoam and other materials to make actual shields!

✯ Two (2) Sample Shields, one illustrated and one made digitally, so students have options to kickstart their creativity!

This resource can be printed out, or used digitally with the TPT Easel tool! TPT Easel Activities can be assigned directly to your Google Classroom, or you can generate a link to share with students via email or your LMS!
