This Three Branches of Government Interactive Foldable is a graphic organizer covering key information on the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government, and works perfectly for Civics or American History interactive notebooks. Students get to be hands-on as they assemble this foldable, all the while reviewing key concepts from the United States Constitution and your unit on the three branches of the U.S. government!
As they fill out this accordion-style graphic organizer, students answer four questions covering key ideas of the Three Branches of Government. Students will:
• Define each branch of government
• Identify how someone can become elected or appointed and for how long they serve in office.
• Describe the powers and responsibilities of each branch.
• Identify how the branch’s powers are checked by the other branches.
This foldable makes for a great review tool to hammer home those key concepts on the branches of government. You can assemble this tree prior to your Constitution Unit and use it to collect notes, or create it as a cumulative review before your exam! Students will have so much fun assembling this foldable and coloring in their trees. Make sure to put out markers, colored pencils, maybe even stickers and washi tape!
